ABOUT THE CLIENT
Circle A Angus Ranch is one of the nation’s premier Angus operations, with cow/calf operations, heifer and bull development programs and their own 5,000 head feedlot. Circle A operates a 24,000-acre, 7,000 head ranching operation headquartered in Iberia, Missouri.

THE CHALLENGE
We were tasked with providing a complete marketing plan to design and create promotional materials for their two annual sales. Circle A also wanted to update the look and enhance the usability of their website, and create a social media presence through Facebook.

OUR SOLUTION
We provided Circle A with a cohesive marketing plan and brand image that carried over seamlessly from print materials and web promotions.
RHD’s Seedstock Marketing Team provided a strategic focus not just in creating designs, but looking at the big picture of the beef industry, focusing on the individual marketing options and strategy of the client, and tailoring custom advertising and marketing plans to fit their needs.

ONLINE MARKETING
We designed a new website for Circle A that incorporated rustic and bold design that complimented the images of their cattle in an easy to navigate and visually appealing package.

Using the website as a foundation, our team created custom Facebook graphics along with several email blasts, sent out to our database of more than 20,000 voluntary subscribers, to complete their online marketing materials. We also created a 1-month paid Facebook advertising campaign on behalf of Circle A and scheduled strategic content for one month prior to the sale.

PRINT MARKETING
The RHD print division designed multiple print advertisements and the 60-page Circle A Fall Bull and Heifer sale catalog, integrating the overall design elements of the ranch.
THE RESULTS
Social media:

By investing our suggested social media strategy, Circle A Angus grew their Facebook following to more than 6,000 followers in less than a month. The Circle A Angus Facebook reaches an average of 8,213 unique users each day.

Sales:
Circle A has a tremendous reputation for quality cattle in both phenotype and pedigree, and a great client base. Their sales are always outstanding. However, following the implementation of the Circle A Angus Ranch materials developed by RHD, the client hosted their best fall sale to date. The sale averaged $4,665 on 106 bulls and $2,483 on 298 bred heifers.

We've all heard the saying "The Customer Is Always Right..." and in most cases, we really do try to follow that at RHD. After all, we are consumers too, and we like to be treated with respect and courtesy just as much as the next person. But sometimes, admit it, we've all be in the situations where sometimes, the customer isn't always right.

Face it, graphic designers, advertising professionals, and many marketing experts are snobs. We know what works and what doesn't. We know how things are usually done yet we are always looking for ways to do something differently or better. So when a customer goes against what we recommend, it's hard.

Now let me back up by saying, never once in my entire career have I ever had like a knock down drag out with a client over something that they wanted, and we didn't recommend. Most of the time, if there is something we disagree on, we respectfully tell them what we don't recommend, and why, and then go from there. If it comes to be a big issue, we usually go with what the customer wants and simply don't put our logo on the ad or project, or don't really advertise that we did that project.

(Any of our customers who are thinking right now...wait...there's no RHD logo at the bottom of my print ad...don't get worried!. Honestly we have done so many print ads sometimes we just simply forget to put it on there. Don't freak out.)

So here are some of the top things we tend to have to disagree with our "customer is always right" rule, and why.

1. USE OF ALL CAPS. Unless you are Cindy Cagwin. Then you can all-caps it all day long, because you're Cindy Cagwin and you're the bomb. The reason we tend to avoid ALL CAPS is because that is viewed as YELLING AT THE READER. It's also kinda viewed as spammy. So avoid all caps. And we get pretty firm about this.

2. Use of Crappy or Over-Used Fonts. It never fails, one designer finds a really cool new font, then within 3 months every other designer on the planet is using it. In 2007 it was Bleeding Cowboys. Honestly I'm pretty sure Stephanie Steck first found this, and used it in the August Show Circuit for one of her clients. By the Fall Sires edition, every ad in there was using Bleeding Cowboys. Then it was Myriad Pro, a simple but totally awesome font. Now it's the LHF fonts. Everyone has them. So, we just tend to avoid those at all. Or wait 5 years til people are over that font, then re-introduce it again. And our cardinal rule. We will NEVER, ABSOLUTELY NEVER, use Comic Sans :)

3. Copyright infringement or other ethical concerns. This is another one we are really firm on, and through the years, has cost us some clients. Usually this occurs during bull promotion season when someone has a bull named after a popular brand, entertainer, or movie. They come to us and say...I named by bull after (INSERT CURRENT BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE NAME HERE) and I want his bull banner to look just like the movie poster. Yeah, not gonna happen with us. Unless things are done above the board and done correctly. For example, years ago we did a promotion for a bull named Bazooka Joe. We had to go through that firm's legal department to get clearance. Same for when we originally promoted Monopoly. We had to get a written sign-off from Hasbro, and if you notice in some of the early ads there was a disclaimer that Monopoly was a registered trademark of Hasbro.

4. Unrealistic Demands. On a few rare occassions, we have clients who are so creative that they are actually more creative than what we are. And in these cases, we just have to honesty say "We can't do that". For example, one time I had a client tell me that they wanted to use an ad background that had a father and son walking in a pasture, with a barn with a Texas flag painted on the side, with the father pointing to a black baldy calf, and the son looking up at the dad wearing a (RANCH NAME) baseball cap, and the daughter doing a cartwheel in the grassy bluebonnets next to the calf. Okay the cartwheel part I made up. But I was like...."Okay are we going to stage this photo shoot?" and the client said..."No, can't you find a stock photo like that?" Ummmm, sure. There are tons of stock photos out there of little kids wearing baseball caps with your ranch name on it that I can find online. And no I'm not that good at Photoshop. So, sometimes, we just have to say...that's beyond our capabilities.

Of course, other than these 4 areas I mentioned above....we definitely feel that the customer is always right :) And we work our tails off to do everything possible to make sure that each and every customer knows that at the end of the day...we work for you, and thus, you're always right!

A few weeks ago, I posted a facebook status stating that I had recently found an old Mix CD, and that I wondered how teenages or college students these days formed new relationships (or broke up with someone) without the assistance from a strategically mixed "Mix CD".

For you young people....a Mix CD....which was preceeded by the "Mix Cassette Tape" is a personalized collection of all of your favorite tunes....prior to the iTunes playlist. And let me say, as you can see from the comments to the left, I have a reputation as quite a Mix CD DJ.

To put it in perspective, chances are you have a Mix CD from me if you have ever gone on a road trip with me, dated me or any of my closest 5 girlfriends, or attended an event I hosted prior to 2008. One of our college traditions was to make a "Mix CD" to commemorate any and every possible event. For example, if we were going to Louisville, we would make a "Louisville Mix" that contained our top 16 favorite songs of that time frame. Or, say we were having a girls night out, we would make a Mix CD of all our favorite girls-only songs to listen to in the car while we drove around from place to place that night. For example, some of my better collections were "Great Shorthorn Revival Mix" "Dallas Mix" and a very special summer mix called "Tanlines." I was even so thoughtful that I would personalize the CDs with special songs for special people on the trip. For example....on our Great Shorthorn Revival Mix, I included TuPac's "California Love" in honor of Brooke Bennett who was one of the 3 partners in crime on that trip. And thank goodness our rent-a-car had a CD player!

My affinity for Mix CDs went to a WHOLE new level when things like Napster and Kazaa became readily accessible while I had the dangerous combination of 1)My Music Knowledge and 2)High Speed Internet Access in College Station, Texas.

So as I mentioned in my earlier post, while cleaning out one of my old desks, I found an un-labelled Mix Cd and it was like musical gold! This prompted Crystal Blin to suggest I post my favorite Mix CD table of contents on a blog. To which I replied.....I'm not sure the contents of my best mix CD's are all that professional!

However, after sorting through a few of them, I found out they actually aren't that bad! So here are a few of my favorite Mix complitations...Enjoy!
Ahh, Steer Planet forums..... a great place to learn and share with others but place where friends can also become enemies with a few strokes of the keyboard and an anonymous screen name.

I saw a post on www.cattle.com today about SEO, referencing a Steer Planet post where someone was blaming a web design firm on a new client site not coming up first on Google.

I thought -- oh, I'll go find that post, I want to see what they are talking about.

Low and behold, one of those genious anonymous posters was talking about RHD!!!

http://www.steerplanet.com/bb/the-big-show/our-new-website/

Wow! Kinda makes you feel funny when people are blatantly criticizing your business on the internet when they don't even know you or know anything about your business.

In this post, someone made the comment insinuating that RHD sites have "good form but no function" and aren't going to be listed on search engines.

Which made me laugh, which was right up there with the humor when someone posted that RHD only works on weekends updating clients websites.

Anyway... I'm not sure where this poster got his information, but actually, RHD takes a lot of pride in search engine optimization and designing sites that are search engine friendly.

We have a full time staff member (Carole) devoted to SEO. Our entire staff has gone to educational workshops on SEO, and we actually brought in an SEO specialist from Houston for a full day of training for our whole team on SEO.

We know how to use Adwords, facebook advertising, and much more.

So, if you fall for believing some random person on Steer Planet who makes blanket statements that aren't true....I'd like for you to take this challenge.

Pick your favorite search term of how you think people would try to find a cattle website on Google...and google it, and see if you can find an RHD site.

For example,

Google "Show Steers For Sale" -- see how many RHD sites are on the front page. I don't want to give it away but when I googled it, we had 3 of the 11 sites on the first page, and the other sites listed were all directories like showsteers.com, steerplanet.com, etc. No other design firm had that many sites listed on the front page.

Google "Show Cattle for Sale" and see how many RHD sites come up

And, FYI, when I googled it, Bill Cody Show Cattle was like the first one that came up. FYI - That was one of the very first sites we ever did here at RHD. We don't do it anymore, but RHD laid the foundation for that site's SEO.

Whatever your term - pick it - and see if you can find an RHD site. I bet you money if it's a livestock related search term that we'll be in the top.

Located in the "short-grass" country of western Oklahoma, the Cooper family is in love with the cattle business. Starting in 1966, Jerry and Trudy Cooper purchased their first set of cattle and moved forward with the use of AI sires in 1973.

The Sculptor herd focuses on the mother cow, but they have used the Ohlde and Duff genetics in their herd. When they do purchase cattle, the females are deep sided, moderate and easy fleshing.

If you are in the neighborhood of Forgan, stop in any time to look at their private treaty cattle offered right on their farm. No time to visit the ranch? Well, no problem. They currently have pictures and videos of bulls up on their website. Click and give them a visit. Call on them any time. You won't be disappointed by their customer service and depth of cattle.
Here at RHD, most everyone knows that we take ethics and integrity as our top priority. We have always tried our best to maintain the highest level of professionalism in our designs and writing, but we recently thought it was a good idea to put it all in writing. So, we developed the RHD Livestock Advertising Code of Ethics.

We welcome others to use this same code of ethics in their own livestock advertising programs, or for anyone in the cattle business to use it as their guide. It is also available at http://ranchhousedesigns.com/education/ethics.

Here at RHD we have a lot of young designers who email us or tell us in person that they wish they could work at RHD, or have a business like RHD, or design ads like RHD.

Well, this morning I was going through some old boxes and I came across this little gem....

What is this piece of work you ask? Well, it's the first ad I ever designed. This was designed in 1997 when I was an intern at The Showbox magazine. I worked there for 3 months, and for the month of June and July, all I was able to design was 1/4 and 1/2 page black and white ads for shows. Which are pretty much template based.

By August, Cherie gave me the go-ahead to get to design the ad for V8 Ranch, since it was my family, and for Wessington Springs Club Calf Producers, and R&R Cattle.

I estimate I probably spent 10 hours on this ad. I remember pestering Laura Stanley to death about how to design an ad. (Laura was The Showbox editor at the time). I spent HOURS searching for this background. I tried every font on the computer. I mean, this was going to be my debut design in a magazine like The Showbox so I was pumped.

I remember when it came out, I couldn't wait to show all my friends. My friend Matt Leo had spent the previous summer working at Pacific Showcase magazine and I felt like he was the friend who probably knew the most about ad design. I couldn't wait to show him. Of course I was wanting some major bragging.

But what did he say? "Rachel, this looks like crap!"

WHAT???

He said, "You can't even read the headline! It looks like it says Congratulations V8 Uniors".

Needless to say I was disappointed, but in the long run, that was the best thing that anyone could have said. Aside from the poor background and typography choice for a headline, it still was a pretty nice ad. Good layout, good picture size, and legible captions. But ever since that day, I have always felt that typography and font choices were my first priority in designs. Because I always hear that old friend saying "It looks like V8 Uniors!'

And, I post this to show any aspiring designer out there who's wondering how they get to be "like Ranch House Designs".....that it's not where you start...it's where you finish :)

Taylor Show Cattle, Bloomfield, Iowa, is one of our newest sites. We are happy to assist this great couple in promoting their cattle breeding, fitting and marketing operation.

The operation, started in 2000, focuses on high quality Simmental, Maine and Angus cross cattle. That allows them to market to all types of operations from purebred seedstock to promotional bulls.

They attend all national shows and offer cattle that are the total package, with a huge presence at the annual Iowa State Fair each August.

Taylor Show Cattle focuses on the maternal side of the business. With that in mind, they are able to create females that will go into donor pens across the nation and that it their difference.

They offer winners via private treaty, off the farm, year round. And, they love to work with people striving to get into the winners circle and into the photo backdrop.

This group is never more than a phone call away for their current and future customers. You can call Randy, 641-208-6653, anytime to purchase cattle, talk marketing tools and get a jump start on your genetic package.

Today, to celebrate wrapping up a great 1st quarter 2013, Rachel got everyone a Longchamp bag / purse. We were first introduced to these by Joelynn Rathmann who is our resident (well former resident) fashionista.

So, the purses were the tipping point for Matt's feeling of being surrounded by females here at RHD, which pushed him to do what all fun graphic designers do --- make a graphic!!

According to Matt, working at RHD really makes men feel under-appreciated :)

According to Matt, here are just a few of the reasons why :)

Tanning strategies, manicures, hair stylists, and even bra sizes are discussed routinely at staff meetings here at RHD.

Shopping conversations are a daily, maybe even hourly conversation topic here in the office

It's not uncommon for people to take off during the day to get highlights or a manicute / pedicure

Bath & Body Works or Victorias Secret are our go-to gift of choice for any office birthday / holiday

For Easter, Halle (our newest team member) gave everyone a custom made pen with a flower on the top....of which 4 people were using in today's staff meeting

Channing Tatum pictures randomly show up as our computer backgrounds or taped to people's desks. (Especially on birthdays)

Instead, Matt says...It is too much to ask for a "Man Cave Day" or gift certificates to Bass Pro Shop...or to discuss cool things like ammo, handgun preferences, XBoxes, or plasma TVs at a staff meeting?

So, here's what Matt came up with, as his visual of what a day in the life at RHD really is like :)
I don't know about our friends up north but here in Texas, spring is in the air! We had such a blast with our Fall on the Farm photo contest that we are hosting another Spring Photo Fun contest to share and celebrate the beauty of life out in the country, on the ranch, or in the barn.

So are you a photographer? Here's how you get in on the fun....

1. Email your photo to rachel@ranchhousedesigns.com between the dates of now and March 17, 2013.
2. The photos will be posted on our facebook page during the week of March 18-22 and the photo with the greatest number of likes will be chosen as the fan favorite winner.

The winner will receive a float wrap print of their winning photo. If you don't know what a float wrap is, it's like this....it's a print that kinda sticks out from the wall.

Now we should say, if you do happen to win, you will have to provide us with a high res photo of your entry to print it on the float wrap. So like an instagram photo won't be high enough resolution. But don't worry, if you do win, and you don't have a high res picture, we'll find something else cool for you to get.

We loved seeing the fall photos, and we can't wait for spring! So go ahead and email those photos in to rachel@ranchhousedesigns.com and let's get started on the fun!

-----------
Official Rules To Join the Fun....

By sending us the photo you grant release to RHD and Facebook to post your photo on the RHD facebook page.

This game is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook. It's just something fun we're doing at RHD.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges here at RHD along with input from fans. The winner is not selected on how many likes they get.

The winner will be notified by email if they are selected.

We are excited to feature one of our recent cattle website designs, Kohlhaas Cattle Co. of Lu Verne, Iowa.

The Kohlhaas family came to us earlier in 2012 because they really liked the work we had done for lots of other Iowa club calf producers, and also the website we had just done for Cyclone Trace.

And, no surprise, when we got the design instructions for KCC, guess what their design preference was....Red and Gold, Iowa State colors.

We love working with customers of all backgrounds, but family farms are always special to us. Kohlhaas Cattle Company is a 3-generation family cattle and grain farm. Their business began in 1989, when they bought their first club calf for a 4-H project at the Kossuth County Fair.

Like many others in the business, once they had that first calf, they were hooked. The Kohlhaas's said that that first calf ignited a passion within their entire family and motivated them to work harder each year to grow their success in the show cattle industry.

I guess if you had to say what is the most unique thing about this family, it would be their niche in market heifers. They are pretty much the experts on market heifers. In fact, they have exhibited FOUR grand champion market heifers at the Iowa State Fair and also two reserve grand champion market heifers at the Iowa State Fair. So yeah, they are the people that when you see them in your class, you are silently bummed because you know they'll be so hard to beat!

Since that first calf in 1989, more than 20 years ago, KCC has developed a respected program with proven consistency in the show ring. They use their experiences from what they learned while showing all those champions to help their clients.

This really was an awesome group to work with -- and I hope you will check them out at http://kohlhaascattleco.com.

And yeah, if you are in the market for a market heifer -- you know where to go!

Are you a show manager? Or a livestock judge? If so, we invite you to check out a new website we have been working on - www.livestockjudges.org. This is a new site that is sort of like a match.com for shows and judges.

If you are a show manager, this is a great tool for finding judges in your area, or finding some new judges that maybe you have not used before.

If you are a judge, this is another great tool to get your name and qualifications out there, and possibly connect with new shows too.

We are proud to be one of the collaborators on this site, and we hope you will check it out!

Well we just returned from Louisville for my favorite show of the fall. And as always, we came home with lots of new stories and good memories from the show.

Here's a few things I learned at the show....
If you have a phone number listed on your livestock trailer or stall signs, be sure to include your cell phone #. We had a friend who had a heifer get their head stuck in the fence. Someone tried to call the # listed on their sign but it was a home # and they couldn't get ahold of the people to let them know.

The Cardinal Grill is not NEAR as crowded on Sunday night, and if you get there around 6 you can avoid the wait!

The shuttle at the Hilton Garden Inn is great.

The Cinnamon Toast french toast at Cracker Barrel is SOOOO worth the calories!

The hallways of Freedom Hall is THE place to see and be seen. Forget the main aisle ha ha! We loved chatting and visiting with everyone at the show.

The Showtimes Magazine and The Showbox Magazines were clearly stepping it up even more than what they already do it that is even possible. They were there handing out magazines like crazy, handing out caps, goodies, give-a-ways, etc. Everywhere you turned you could see these two magazines and people looking at them.

Why is it that the barn is 30 degrees colder than the showring? It makes it so hard to decide whether to bring a jacket or leave it at the stalls.

And the newest observation of the year from Louisville....

This year's gate people are R-U-D-E!!!!! They turned me and Emily around after we walked all the way from the hotel to the gate because we hadn't got our passes yet. So to avoid the $12 per head fee to get in the gate, we, of course, devised a backup plan to get in which SUCCEEDED. I still don't understand why certain gate people at livestock shows think that just because they are an hourly paid rent-a-cop that they have this super authority to turn people away or let them in. Really, we're here all the way from Texas, we're clearly cattle people, we're SUPPOSED to be inside that gate.

2012 has been a big year of continued growth at RHD and as always we are so thankful for the opportunity to work with the best customers in the business.

This fall we have greatly expanded our staff and thus, our areas of service as well! I am so proud that these new team members have joined RHD. They are all SMART and experienced people that just add to the outstanding team that we have here. So, here are a few of our new team members! Some are new faces, and some need no introduction :)

Callie Graves was our first hire of the summer / fall. Callie is originally from East Bernard, Texas, making her the 4th "Brahma" fan on our staff. Well, actually we are all BRAHMAN fans but we're talking about being fans of her alma mater, East Bernard High School, who's mascot is the Brahmas.

Callie will be working in our print division, primarily working with graphic design projects and also serving as a designer for the Chianina Journal and Chi Connection, which RHD is now designing. Callie has past experience as a print designer and is extremely familiar with Photoshop and InDesign, and also the rodeo business. She is awesome!

Next up, a lady who needs no introduction in the cattle business: KC Kinder. I always say KC Keffer, but then again, lots of people refer to me as Rachel Williams still...and it doesn't bother me... so I doubt KC minds either for those of us who always say KC Keffer. KC is an Indiana native and now an Oklahoma resident. She has a B.S. in Ag Communications from Oklahoma State and a great deal of experience in the cattle business.

KC joined the RHD team on a part time basis about a year ago as one of our RHD reps. She quickly became one of the top RHD Reps and then we hired her full time this summer. She does a lot of things around here. First, she is serving as our special projects coordinator, and currently her biggest project is the Best of the Barns contest which will crank up this fall. She also serves as coordinator of our RHD reps program and is our livestock sales representative. And she photographs and does video editing too. And, starting this fall, she joined our web updates team and spends a considerable amount of time working on websites now too. If you don't happen to know KC, she'll be at Louisville and lots of other fall shows and sales, most likely in the Hereford aisles. She's also the proud mother of two little adorable twins, who we all affectionately refer to as "Surround Sound."

Joining us in September 2012....Melissa Guttenberger, formerly Melissa Muegge and a Brenham, Texas native and Santa Gertrudis showman. Before Melissa officially agreed to join our team, I kept telling everyone at the office "She's a genius! She has a master's degree in ag communications!" To which then Carole sweetly reminded me that I TOO have a master's degree lol.

Melissa is super talented and extremely well versed in the agriculture and business industries. She has a B.S. in communications from Texas A&M where she worked for Dr. Joe Townsend and was very involved in all kinds of things there. Next, she received a M.S. in ag communications from the University of Florida, which us ag comm folks recognize as one of the top programs in the nation. From there, she went to work for Allflex as their national accounts manager, then later the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. So how'd she end up in Wharton, Texas? LOVE! Her husband Kelly is a Wharton native and the Guttenberger's have made their home here. Melissa joined our team as our web division project manager. We have been growing so much in the web division that we felt the need to split Tricia's past project manager duties into a print division and web division. So Tricia will continue to work with our print projects, and Melissa will now be handling the web projects. Melissa is also a proud mom of a handsome son, Grant.

And look at this...a MAN on the RHD team!!!! Some people ask how he handles it, but most people think he's pretty lucky to be working with 10 beautiful ladies all day! :)

Matt Sweeney joined RHD in September 2012 as our lead developer. So what does that mean? Means he's the smartest person on our staff. Including smarter than me!

Matt is a web design guru. He had been doing some freelance work for RHD for the past 2 years, but never had been able to take a full time position with us because his first calling is serving as youth minister for Grace Community Church here in Wharton. This fall, an opportunity came up where Matt could do both - work for RHD full time and still work with the church. God is so good!!!

Matt knows more about web design than I could ever dream of, and we expect that to start showing when you see the new designs that RHD will be able to produce with the addition of Matt to our team. His addition to our group means we will be able to offer advanced web design services now with lots of "bells and whistles" and new services. Matt is also an experienced videographer, and we will be able to offer that service now too. Before you start calling us to come video your sale cattle, we want to say that we will not be offering video services as extensively as some of our friends and colleages in the business like Ideal Video or Cattle in Motion. But we WILL be offering the kind of videos businesses and ranchers need like promotional videos, video blogs, and more. We have some awesome video work coming down the pipe in the next month so stay tuned.

WOW! So big things are happening here at RHD, and we give all the glory to GOD. Thank you to everyone who helps make our jobs a joy and for allowing us to do what we love!!! The best is yet to come from RHD! Stay tuned!

Last week we came up with a new idea as just one more way RHD can help contribute to giving back to the industry....The RHD Scholars program.

You can check out all the details here: http://ranchhousedesigns.com/rhdscholars.html

But basically, the program is a nationwide mentorship program designed to help build future leaders in livestock advertising and marketing. Who should apply?

1) College students who have ever said "I wish I could work for RHD"
2) College students who have ever said "I wish I could start a business like RHD"
3) College students who want to be livestock photographers
4) College students who want to work for a breed association
5) College students who'd like to be advertising designers or web designers
6) College students who'd like to work as a sale consultant or livestock consultant
7) College students who'd like to work for a magazine, design agency, PR firm, etc.

We are going to go through all applications to the program (as of writing this blog we have about 35 applications from students across the USA) and we are going to select 20 students. Then basically we are taking these students under our wing for the school year and beyond.

We will work with them in the areas of design, marketing, photography, journalism, social media, and more.

We will be scheduling RHD Scholars events at Kansas City, Louisville, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston and other big livestock industry events. We are also working the logistics of possibly doing a special RHD Scholars event where all of the group will come to our headquarters in Texas for a special RHD Scholars conference.

Basically we will team each of the scholars up with various members of our staff as well as industry contacts who share their same professional goals. And wow do we have some awesome industry mentors lined up!!! Just a few of our industry mentors include Martha Garrett, Julie French, Jeremy Haag, Luke Bowman, Brooke Bennett, Jim Williams, Wade Fischer, Crystal Blin, and many more! The scholars will be able to call upon their mentors for career advice, networking, and critiques.

The elite group of RHD Scholars will also be recognized and promoted on the RHD website and have access to industry job postings and scholarship announcements.

The application process is super easy, you can get it here: http://ranchhousedesigns.com/rhdscholars.html. It's not meant to be a huge ominious application just a way for us to get to know the applicants and their career needs.

Applications are due September 31st, so check it out!
