Announcing the 2013-2014 RHD Scholars!


WHARTON, Texas ­– Ranch House Designs, Inc., announced the 20 young professionals who have been selected to participate in the 2013-2014 RHD Scholars Program.

The RHD Scholars Program is a nationwide mentorship program designed to help build future leaders in livestock advertising and marketing. This past year, scholars developed professional skills in advertising, photography, social media and participated in mentorship opportunities at major livestock industry events, while receiving guidance and advice from mentors from the Ranch House Designs team.

“We are so proud and excited to continue this mentorship program for a second year,” says Rachel Cutrer, president of Ranch House Designs, Inc., “We had a large and competitive group of new applicants and returning scholars from last year’s program and are looking forward to working with some of the top aspiring agricultural marketing and advertising students.”

This year’s RHD Scholars program was limited to 20 participants, three new RHD Scholars were selected for induction to the program this year, and 17 chose to continue on in the program from the previous year.

Ranch House Designs, Inc., is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 RHD Scholars:

Melissa Leanne Grimmel* a sophomore double majoring in agricultural communications and animal sciences at Kansas State University;
Sierra Heaton* a junior double majoring in animal science and public relations at The University of Findlay;
Katlyn Pieper* a senior double majoring in agribusiness and animal industry management at Illinois State University;

Adelyn Allen, a senior agricultural leadership and development major at Texas A&M University;
Sarah Caffey, a junior agricultural communications major at Texas A&M University;
Bailey Core, a sophomore animal science and agricultural communications major at Iowa State University;
Chloe Geye, a senior animal science major at Texas A&M University;
Victoria Glaser, a sophomore agricultural business major at Louisiana State University;
Kelsey Jones, a senior agricultural communications major at Texas Tech University;
Jordan Kuhn, a sophomore agricultural communications major at Purdue University;
Keegan Langford, a senior agricultural communications major at Texas Tech University;
Meredith Larson, a senior agribusiness major at Texas A&M University;
Lynsey Meharg, a junior agricultural communications major at Connors State College;
Stefanie M. Neuhaus, a senior agricultural communications major at Texas Tech University;
Bethany Nolan, a junior agricultural communications major at Texas A&M University;
Victoria Pilger, a senior agricultural communications major at Texas A&M University;
Brooke Prather, a senior agricultural communications major at Louisiana State University
Tana Simmons, a sophomore agricultural communications major at Purdue University;
Meagan Stephens, a senior agricultural communications major at Oklahoma State University;
Ashley Vogel, a senior agricultural communications major at Iowa State University;

These students will begin a 1-year mentorship program with Ranch House Designs, in which they will focus on developing their professional skills and building a portfolio of work in livestock advertising and web design, livestock marketing, photography, video, journalism, and social media. The students will participate in mentorship opportunities at the American Royal, North American, Denver, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston Livestock Shows. Additionally, each student will be paired with an industry mentor who will help the students achieve their career goals.
