Last year we welcomed our first class of RHD Scholars to the Ranch House Designs family, and we are happy to announce that we will be continuing the program for 2013-2014!
The RHD Scholars Program is a nationwide mentorship program designed to help build future leaders in livestock advertising and marketing. This past year, Scholars developed professional skills in advertising, photography, social media and much more, participated in mentorship opportunities at major livestock industry events, and received guidance and advice from their Ranch House Designs mentors.
The program is limited to 20 participants, and with 17 returning from last year, we will select three of the nation’s top young livestock professionals to join the program, which will run from fall 2013 to spring 2014.
So, do you want to become an RHD Scholar for 2013-2014? Here is what you need to know!
Who should apply?
Undergraduate college students who…
1) Have ever said, "I wish I could work for RHD"
2) Have ever said, "I wish I could start a business like RHD"
3) Want to be livestock photographers
4) Want to work for a breed association
5) Would like to be advertising designers or web designers

What are the benefits of being in the RHD Scholars Program?
We will work with RHD Scholars in the areas of design, marketing, photography, journalism, social media, and more. Scholars will also have the opportunity to attend Ranch House Designs Livestock Marketing Workshops for free.
Each Scholar will receive a mentor from the Ranch House Designs team. The mentors will offer a resume critique, interview tips and advice and guidance to their Scholar throughout the program.
Scholars will able to participate in mentorship opportunities at the American Royal, North American, Denver, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston Livestock Shows.
RHD Scholars will also be recognized and promoted on the RHD website and have access to industry job postings and scholarship announcements.
RHD Scholars will be given monthly challenges in the areas of livestock advertising and web design, livestock marketing, photography, video, journalism, and social media. As the saying goes, “you get out of life what you put into it” – Scholars who complete the majority of the challenges will have a collection of materials to build a professional portfolio of work!
